Accepting Agency has helped us:

> Feel empowered to create the life we want for ourselves.

> Experience the freedom that comes from taking full responsibility for one's choices.

> Let go of the frustration of trying to compel people to do things they don't want to do.

> Mentor, parent, and lead effectively by helping people consider the possible consequences of their choices then letting them act for themselves.

You will experience similar results (and other great things) as you practice the two core principles of Accepting Agency:

1. Accept Personal Agency:

Own your choices and how they create your circumstances.  Respect other people's ability to choose and receive their own consequences.

> How have your choices shaped your life?

> What can you do to show others that you respect their ability to make their own choices?

2. Accept Influential Agency:

Own how your choices affect others and be realistic about how theirs affect you.

> How have the choices you made today impacted other people?

> How have other people's choices impacted you today?

Accepting both Personal and Influential Agency can help you avoid two untrue extremes: (1) the belief that you have no control over what happens in your life; and (2) the belief that everything that's happening in your life is 100% because of you.

Try thinking of life like rowing a boat down a river. The effect of other people's choices are the current. Your own choices are your ability to row. You can't control the current but you can still row to get to where you want to be. And as you row, the current does affect your experience.

> How is your experience with Personal Agency like rowing?

> How is your experience with Influential Agency like the current?

> What are the advantages of rowing with and of rowing against the current? How does this apply to agency?

You create your life with your choices. And other people's choices also play a role. Just as your choices play a role in creating other people's lives. That's a big responsibility.

The more you're 100% honest about how your choices are affecting you and other people, the more you'll be empowered to make choices that improve your life and theirs. Choosing to embrace this honesty is truly liberating.

> How can you be more honest about how your choices are affecting yourself or others?

> How does the nature of your relationship with others change how your choices affect them (& vice versa)?

One more thing: to create what you want through choices (and teach others to do the same), you'll need to know which choices produce which results. You can learn this from life experience and experimentation. You can also learn from the voices of mentors, ideologies, and your own intuition.

Hone PerceptionDiscern Truth, and Increase Understanding to listen closely to these voices, figure out which to trust, and add what you learn about choice/consequence relationships to your personal schema.

And ultimately, you'll experience a live well lived as you view your choices and what you're creating with them through the lens of Fulfilling Yearnity.

> What do you want to create for yourself and others?

> How can you learn which choices will create that?

> How can you test whether those choices truly get the results you think they will?

> Does what you want to create fulfill your yearnity and the yearnity of the people you love?
